In the early 1920’s, the Saraceni family (formerly of Italy) began supplying migrant European field workers with “homeland” foods on the esplanade of the Johnstone River in Innisfail. Word-of-mouth steadily increased product demand. In 1983, Len, a Boiler-Maker by trade, Fitter and Turner by skill, and Cane Harvester Driver by employment, took a leap of faith, buying the Saraceni family business, with the hope of continuing service to the Innisfail region.
Together with his wife Anita, Len continues to deliver on their promise to supply North Queensland with the largest selection of high-quality gourmet products. With over 35 years of experience, Oliveri’s Deli is now world renowned for its products and service, coming highly recommended in trip advisor publications such as The Lonely Planet Guide.
